Your village retired to Florida.
Camp and school vacation week sign-up dates for 9 towns north of Boston, checked every week and sent in one free email. Hear when registration opens before the good weeks fill.
Tracking camps in Medford, Somerville, Malden, Arlington, Melrose, Winchester, Stoneham, Saugus and Lynnfield.
The sign-up calendar
When registration opens, month by month. Solid dates are confirmed by the camp. Dashed dates are expected, based on when sign-ups opened last year.
Find a program
Summer day camps and February and April vacation week programs. Every listing links to the camp's own page and shows when it was last checked.
Grade matching is approximate. Summer camps often go by the grade your kid enters in the fall, so always check the camp's own age rules.
For every week off you can't take off.
One email a week with new registration dates, programs that just opened, and the ones filling up. Free.
How it works
-
Every program goes on one list
Town rec departments, YMCAs, community programs and specialty day camps within about 20 minutes of the 9 towns. Summer, February break and April break.
-
Camp pages get checked every week
Every day from January through March, when most registrations open. Each listing shows its source and the date it was last checked. Last year's dates are always labeled as expected, never as confirmed.
-
You get one email a week
New dates, programs that just opened, and anything close to full, with a direct link to sign up. You still register on the camp's own site.
Run a camp or rec program?
Borrowed Village sends local parents straight to your registration page.
- Listings are free and link to your own site.
- Only facts from your public pages are listed, with the source shown.
- Anything wrong gets fixed within 24 hours of an email.
- If you'd rather not be listed, your program comes down within 24 hours.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. The weekly email and this site are free.
Which towns do you cover?
Medford, Somerville, Malden, Arlington, Melrose, Winchester, Stoneham, Saugus and Lynnfield, plus camps within about a 20-minute drive that families from those towns use. If you live somewhere else nearby, email and say where. That helps decide what comes next.
Why do some dates say expected?
Early in the season most camps haven't posted next year's dates. Showing when registration opened last year gives you a rough idea of when to watch. Those dates are always dashed and labeled expected. As soon as a camp posts the real date, it switches to confirmed and goes in the weekly email.
Can I register through Borrowed Village?
No. Every listing links to the camp's own registration page, and you sign up there. Always confirm dates, prices and age rules with the camp before you register.
What about December break, overnight camps or single days off?
Not yet. For now it's summer day camps and February and April vacation week programs. December break and after-school programs are the most likely additions.
Something's wrong, or a camp is missing.
Please say so. Every listing has a "Report a fix" link, or email brittany@borrowedvillage.com. Fixes go in within 24 hours.
What do you do with my email?
Send you the weekly email, and nothing else. It's never sold or shared. Borrowed Village only asks for your email and town, and never for your kids' names.
